How to Find Your WordPress Login URL

The login page is the gateway between your WordPress site and your site management dashboard, commonly known as the admin area.

Once you log in to the WordPress admin dashboard, you can create new posts, add new pages, change the design, install WordPress plugins, and do much more.

The first step to accessing the WordPress admin area is by adding /login/ or /wp-admin/ to the end of your website’s URL.

For example:

www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin/
www.yourdomain.com/login/

Both of these URLs will take you to the WordPress login page. Next, enter your registered username and password to log in.

If, for some reason, your WordPress login URL is not working properly, you can still access the WordPress login page by using this URL:

www.yourdomain.com/wp-login.php

If you have installed WordPress in a subdirectory like /wordpress/, then your login page URL will be:

www.yourdomain.com/wordpress/wp-admin
www.yourdomain.com/wordpress/login/

If WordPress is installed on a subdomain, you can access the admin login page using:

subdomain.yourdomain.com/wp-admin/
subdomain.yourdomain.com/login/

Once logged in, you will be redirected to your WordPress admin area, which is located in the wp-admin folder.

You can also directly access the admin area by entering URLs like:

www.yourdomain.com/admin/
www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin/

These URLs will check if you are already logged in and if your session is still active.

If your session is still active, you will be taken to the WordPress dashboard. If your session has expired, you will be redirected back to the WordPress login page.

Using ‘Remember Me’ to Skip the WordPress Login Page

On the WordPress login page, there is a ‘Remember Me’ checkbox. Checking this box before logging in allows you to access the admin area without needing to re-enter your login credentials for up to 14 days (depending on your browser’s cookie settings).

If you often forget to check the ‘Remember Me’ box, you can install a Remember Me login plugin, which automatically checks this box every time you log in to WordPress.
